More and more people are moving to Florida these days, and many of those transplants are opting for Central Florida over any other part of the state. Back in 2016, data released by the U.S. Census Bureau revealed more than 73,000 people moved into the Central Florida region, and steady population growth in our area is a trend that doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon.Â
Fittingly, John Burns Real Estate Consulting just recently devised a list of the 50 fastest-selling master planned communities in the country, and of course several are located right here in Central Florida.Â
Collectively, the 50 communities mentioned saw over 28,300 home sales last year alone, which believe it or not is up a whopping 20% from 2016, and a number that actually represents 4.5% of all new home sales in the country.
The Villages, located just north of Clermont, was recognized as the top overall master planned community in 2017, netting 2,231 sales last year and jumping up from the No. 2 spot overall back in 2016.
Other notable Central Florida communities to make the list include Lake Nona in Orlando (No. 12) and Viera in Brevard County (No. 24), while Florida master plans outside of the central region to be mentioned include Lakewood Ranch in Sarasota, West Villages in Sarasota, Nocatee and Bartram Park in Jacksonville, Tradition in Port St. Luice, and Waterset in Tampa.
